Water supply has improved on 1200 ha of agricultural land area in Marneuli Municipality
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd has completed rehabilitation works of the pumping station located in the village of Keshalo, Marneuli municipality. As a result, water supply has improved on 1200 ha of agricultural land area. Gigla Tamazashvili-General Director of the company, together with the company representatives has inspected the rehabilitated pumping station.
“One of the key priorities for agricultural development is the repair-rehabilitation of irrigation and drainage infrastructure, which we continue to implement in a systematic and consistent manner. Within the ongoing reform in the amelioration sector, “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd has implemented number of significant capital projects aimed at rehabilitating amelioration schemes, supporting their proper operation and ensuring stable water supply to agricultural land plots.
One of these significant projects, which included the repair of Keshalo pumping station in Marneuli municipality has already been completed. Within the project, the pumping station was fully renovated - additional pumps were installed, corroded pipelines were replaced with new ones, water intake structure was arranged and new gates and lighting system were installed,” - the General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” mentioned.
The completed works will contribute to reliable and unhindered operation of the pumping station, which will improve water supply for agricultural lands in the region.
