For improving irrigation and drainage infrastructure in the region, “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd is carrying out rehabilitation works on the River Rioni left bank drainage massif, in Lanchkhuti municipality.

Currently, the most deteriorated separate sections of Pichora main and water collector canals, located on 73 ha of land in the village of Nigoiti are being arranged. According to the plan, a 1500-meter section shall be cleaned from sediment and shrubs.

The completion of the rehabilitation works will significantly improve agricultural potential of the village of Nigoiti. In particular, it’ll facilitate timely and unhindered removal of excess water, help prevent water logging process of the soil and create stable conditions for the locals to carry out agricultural activities.
