A 1500m long section of the drainage canal is being cleaned from sediment in the village of Khirsa
Works for the arrangement of amelioration infrastructure are actively underway across the regions of Georgia. “Georgian Amelioration” ltd is carrying out cleaning works of the drainage canal from sediment, on the territory of the village of Khirsa, in Signagi municipality. A 1500 m long section of the canal will be fully cleared of layers of silt and trash accumulated over time, causing water stagnation and waterlogging of adjacent territories.
After completion of the works, discharge capacity of the canal will be significantly improved. As a result, on 100 ha of agricultural land area, local farmers will be able to avoid damage caused by heavy rainfall and produce high-quality yield.
Rehabilitation of amelioration schemes aims to support local production and contribute to the development of agricultural sector.
