“Georgian Amelioration” ltd is implementing the project for “Repair-rehabilitation of pumping station of Gagma Kariata massif drainage scheme”, aimed at improving drainage service in the region and protecting agricultural land from flooding.

Within the project drainage service will be improved on 400 ha of agricultural land area that will significantly contribute to agricultural development and efficient use of land resources.

Giorgi Khmelidze-Director in Technical Issues of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd has got acquainted with the ongoing works on site. According to him, the drainage scheme and the pumping station of Kariata massif were commissioned in the 1980s since then no rehabilitation works have been carried out, that makes the project particularly significant.

Design-construction works started on October 7, 2025 and are actively progressing.  The project envisages rehabilitation of the pumping station and cross- regulator, as well as development of the pumping station area.

It’d be mentioned, that “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd is carrying out cleaning works on the main canal and collector network by own resources, which ensures effective implementation of the project and proper operation of the scheme.
