Representatives of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd provided local population and farmers of the village of Chumlaki with detailed information on the irrigation service tariff subsidy, irrigation water availability and the importance of proper operation of amelioration infrastructure.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the issues related to the irrigation season, the conditions for receiving irrigation service according to the water-use schedule and irrigation quantities. Representatives of “Georgian Amelioration” explained that one irrigation operation doesn’t consider a single watering event, but rather covers a fifteen-day period during which farmers are able to use irrigation water without limitation.

Communication with local population is of particular importance for the company, while the meetings with water users help both to timely identify the existing challenges in the sector and to define future priorities and plans.
