Areas receiving amelioration service have significantly increased in 2026
Demand for amelioration service has significantly increased in Georgia this year. As of 2026, the agricultural land area contracted within water-use schedules considerably exceeds the data of the same period last year.
Namely, during the corresponding period in 2025, the area agreed for irrigation demand was 9 988.1 ha. By 2026 this indicator has increased up to 29 694.33 ha.
The increased figure reflects the growing demand for irrigation water and high level of activity of water users.
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd calls on farmers and water users to conclude water-use schedules in advance and in a timely manner. The mentioned process significantly facilitates the effective planning of water supply, improved management of amelioration schemes and proper irrigation of agricultural land.
It’d be mentioned that users who conclude water-use schedules, will benefit from state subsidy program.
