A working meeting related to the effective operation of amelioration schemes was held in Ozurgeti Municipality. Gigla Tamazashvili-General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd together with the company management met with the State Representative in Guria region and the Mayors of Ozurgeti, Lanchkhuti and Chokhatauri municipalities.

At the working meeting, the parties discussed the current condition of the amelioration infrastructure in the region, ongoing and planned projects, as well as priority measures necessary for proper and efficient operation of water facilities.

Particular attention was paid to the importance of improving drainage schemes, cleaning works of water collecting and drainage canals, ensuring proper operation of water-supply infrastructure and providing population with safe and unhindered services. Furthermore, it was mentioned that timely preventive measures are essential both for protecting agricultural land and for reducing potential risks caused by heavy rainfall.

The parties also discussed the ways to gradually address the existing challenges in the region, along with specific issues that will be further developed with the involvement of relevant agencies.

According to representatives of “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd  coordinated cooperation with local authorities and meetings of this kind facilitate timely identification of challenges,  better understanding of locals’ needs and more effective planning of future projects.
