Representatives of “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd, together with Giorgi Machavariani -the Mayor of Gurjaani Municipality held informational meetings in several villages of Gurjaani.

Residents of the villages of Vazisubani, shashiani, Kalauri, Vachnadziani and Kakhipari were informed about the planned arrangements aimed at improving the irrigation infrastructure in Kakheti region. Furthermore, the meetings addressed the existing state subsidy scheme for irrigation service tariffs.

The farmers had the opportunity to get detailed information on the issues important for them, including the process of planning water use schedule, irrigation frequency and the conditions to receive irrigation service.

At the meeting particular attention was paid to the importance of irrigation water availability and proper operation of amelioration infrastructure.

Similar meetings facilitate strengthening of direct communication between the company and local population, ensuring timely identification of the existing challenges, defining right priorities and making effective decisions.
