Cleaning works are underway on an 8-kilometer section of the Karchkhabi distribution channel in the village Didi Jikhaishi, in Samtredia Municipality. The project is being implemented by “Georgian Amelioration” LTD.

The aim of the works is to increase the efficiency of the irrigation system, improve water discharge capacity, and ensure a stable water supply for local farmers.

As a result of the completion of the project, water supply will be significantly improved on 45 hectares of agricultural land area, and up to 80 beneficiaries will be protected from the flooding risk.

The improvement of irrigation infrastructure will facilitate to increase the agricultural productivity and improve the socio-economic situation of the local population.
