Mameli Kobalia -Commercial Director of “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd, together with representatives of local self-government met with farmers and local population in Gardabani Municipality. At the meeting water users were provided with comprehensive information on the new irrigation service tariff and state subsidy mechanisms aimed at supporting farmers.

David Kargareteli- the Mayor of Gardabani municipality provided local farmers with a detailed explanation of the procedures for receiving irrigation services, payment terms and water supply schedules. It was mentioned that one irrigation cycle does not mean a single watering event and farmers are entitled to use irrigation water over a two-week period.

Furthermore, it was highlighted that if a water use schedule is agreed upon in advance and the user does not use irrigation water, no respective financial obligation will be imposed.

“Georgian Amelioration” Ltd continues active communication with farmers in the regions. The mentioned meetings aim to support agricultural development, raise awareness about reforms implemented in the amelioration sector and ensure wide dissemination of information.
