A meeting was held with farmers in Kareli Municipality to discuss the new irrigation service tariff and issues related to the irrigation season organization.  The meeting was held with the participation of representatives of “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd, local self-government and the company’s Commercial Director -Mameli Kobalia.

The meeting focused on the new irrigation service tariff and the state subsidy mechanisms available to farmers. The participants discussed in detail the ongoing changes and their impact on agricultural sector.

Special attention was given to organization of the upcoming irrigation season. The parties discussed the issues related to effective water supply management, proper operation of irrigation infrastructure and the importance of signing water use agreements in a timely manner.

It was mentioned that “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd will supply water according to a pre-agreed and approved schedule, which will ensure stable distribution of irrigation water and  facilitate the increase of crop productivity.

Furthermore, the participants had the opportunity to ask questions of interest and received comprehensive information on both the new tariffs and organization of the irrigation season.
