Gigla Tamazashvili: “Water users will pay the irrigation water fee only after receiving the service.”
Gigla Tamazashvili -General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd met with the owners of peach gardens in the village of Chumlaki, Kakheti region and introduced them to the ongoing changes in the field of amelioration.
At the meeting Gigla Tamazashvili spoke about the new irrigation water service tariffs set by GNERC (the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission) as well as the state subsidy mechanism.
The General Director highlighted the importance of a water use schedule agreement for participation in the subsidy scheme.
“For water users to benefit from the state subsidy, it is necessary to contact service centers of Georgian Amelioration in a timely manner, before the start of the irrigation season and sign the relevant agreement,” said Gigla Tamazashvili.
He also explained that water users will pay the irrigation water fee only after receiving the service rather then immediately upon signing the agreement. The meeting also addressed the obligations that arise for both water users and the company once the agreement has been concluded.
It’d be noted that for informing water users and ensuring a high standard of service, “Georgian Amelioration” ltd continues to hold similar format meetings in various municipalities throughout the country.
