Rehabilitation works are underway on Imirasani irrigation scheme, in Bolnisi municipality
For the purpose to increase water supplied areas, Ministry of Agriculture and United Amelioration Systems Company of Georgia implement rehabilitation of Imirasani irrigation scheme, in Bolnisi municipality, Kvemo Kartli.
The project envisages: rehabilitation of headworks, main, secondary and tertiary distribution canals and on-farm network of Imirasani irrigation scheme; arrangement of a new concrete tooth, metal depth screen and energy dissipater on headworks (rock fill in reinforcement boxes); arrangement of new berms, outlets and on-farm network (earth canals with typical outlets); rehabilitation of mechanical part; repair of hand-rails; cleaning of main canal; restoration of damaged reaches; repair of attached hydro-technical structures and lining of canal section with cast in-situ concrete.
As a result of implemented rehabilitation woks, water will be supplied to more than 3000 ha of agricultural land area of 7 villages (Mtskneti, Chapala, Talaveri, Zemo Arkevani, Kvemo Arkevani, Mamkhuti), thereby benefitting 1735 households
The works were initiated in 2014 and will be completed in December, 2015. Total cost of the project amounts to GEL 3 300 000.
United Amelioration Systems Company of Georgia implement rehabilitation works on 10 different items in Kvemo Kartli, within the framework of modernization of irrigation schemes.
