Zemo Samgori irrigation system is being rehabilitated
The Ministry of Agriculture and LTD “United Amelioration Systems Company of Georgia” continue to rehabilitate irrigation systems.
Rehabilitation is being implemented on Zemo Samgori irrigation system’s headwork on Tbilisi Reservoir, low main channel and secondary distribution canals.
Within rehabilitation of above-mentioned system, with project is planned to repair the tower of Tbilisi Reservoir (the water intake); Rehabilitation of electromechanical devices (hoisting mechanisms of gates, el. motors, control cabinets); Regulation of internal power supply and lighting; Cleaning of main and distribution canals, restoration of damaged coverings with monolithic concretes and shotcrete; Rehabilitation of culvert nodes and hydraulic structures (siphons, aqueduct, chutes, retains, spillways, culverts, pipes under channels).
Changing of damaged structures (gutters, tiles); Rehabilitation of culvert nodes and hydraulic structures ((siphons, aqueduct, chutes, retains, spillways, culverts, water throughput pipes).
As a result of implemented works, in ten villages of Kvemo Kartli Region – Lilo, Gamarjveba, Martkopi (part), Pholadaantkari, Vaziani, Gachiani, Akhali Samgori, Nagebi, Lemshveniera, desert 7120 hectares of land will be irrigated. 20 000 inhabitants will benefit with mentioned area.
Rehabilitation workss started in 2013 and will be completed in May 2015. The cost of project is 9 496 262 GEL.
LTD “United Amelioration Systems Company of Georgia” at present, is implementing rehabilitation works on 8 different sites.
