Modern irrigation methods were introduced to Geguti water users
In order to facilitate to the expansion of modern irrigation methods, “Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Agriculture continues information campaign. Another meeting was held in the village Geguti, Tskaltubo municipality. Representatives of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd made a presentation on drip and sprinkler irrigation methods and their advantages to the water users.
This method of irrigation is much more profitable than the traditional flooding method, as it requires twice as little el. Energy, water and fertilizers and significantly increases yield.
Zurab Kuchava –West Region Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd, local population and students of the faculty of Agrarian Sciences and Bio-systems Engineering of Georgian Technical University attended the meeting which proceeded in question-answer regime.
To facilitate to the expansion of modern irrigation technologies, meetings with water users are held throughout the country, within the information campaign.
