Rehabilitation of regulation hydraulic unit of the River Rioni
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia implements rehabilitation of regulation hydraulic unit of the River Rioni, near Poti town.
Within the project, restoration works shall be carried out on regulation hydraulic units;

depreciated electrical technics shall be replaced, mechanical parts of the dam and gates shall be restored, ten dam gates shall be lifted and fixed in open condition.
Furthermore, constructions of watershed dam and subsidiary structures shall be repaired.

The project envisages execution of all necessary works to ensure readiness of the structure for discharging maximum flow rates during expected floods.
The object, commissioned since 1959, was transferred to “Georgian Amelioration” ltd into ownership in December, 2017.
Upon the transfer, the Company carried out respective works to examine current condition of the structure. Detailed studies revealed the necessity of immediate rehabilitation.
For rehabilitation of the River Rioni hydraulic unit, up to GEL 1 367 815 shall be spent.
