Rehabilitation of Tsiskari and Bagrati irrigation schemes
Ministry of Agriculture and “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd implement rehabilitation of Tsiskari and Bagrati irrigation schemes, in Marneuli municipality, Kvemo Kartli.
The project envisages rehabilitation of main, secondary and tertiary distribution canals and on-farm network. Cleaning of Tsiskari, Bagrati and last canals, demolishing of damaged lining, arrangement of new lining with cast in-situ reinforced concrete, repair of existing culverts and installation of new ones, arrangement of typical outlet units is scheduled.
As a result of rehabilitation, water will be supplied to 820 ha of agricultural land area of 4 villages (Kachagani, Kasunlo,Ulashlo, Agmamedlu), thereby benefiting 450 households.
Total cost of the project amounts to GEL 3 464 000.
Rehabilitation works were initiated last year and will be completed by the end of 2015.
As of today, “Georgian Amelioration” implements rehabilitation arrangements on 7 items in Kvemo Kartli region, in parallel with irrigation season.
