Rehabilitation of Niabi irrigation system
The "Georgian Amelioration" LTD of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia is implementing the rehabilitation project of Niabi irrigation system. The project envisages full rehabilitation of the main channel with 14 km of the total length and arrangement of various hydraulic structures. As a result of the rehabilitation works, irrigation services will be restored in six villages of Kaspi Municipality, covering up to 500 hectares of agricultural land. Since 2012, 44 rehabilitation projects have been implemented in Shida Kartli, which increased the irrigated land area up to 19,690 hectares in the region.
