Working meeting with Kvemo Kartli region authorities
Another working meeting of Deputy Minister of Agriculture-Gocha Tsopurashvili and General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd –Levan Dvali has been held in Bolnisi municipality, with Governor of Kvemo Kartli region-Paata Khizanishvili and heads of local municipalities.
In order to consider region need as much as possible, “Georgian Amelioration” ltd plans rehabilitation of amelioration infrastructure in tight cooperation with local authorities. With this regard, within the meeting, Levan Dvali-General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd and Zviad Mandaria –Kvemo Kartli Region Director of the company made presentations on the condition of amelioration infrastructure and scheduled projects in the region.
Along with ongoing and scheduled works, General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” spoke about projects to be implemented in Bolnisi, which will be initiated in autumn. General Director introduced information to the attendants about those projects which will be implemented by the company’s own resources.
As the Deputy Minister of Agriculture mentioned: “Amelioration is one of the significant directions for agricultural development. With this regard we are actively working. Large-scale works have been carried out in Kvemo Kartli region”. According to him, formation of water users associations in future is of great significance.
The working meeting proceeded in question-answer regime. Representatives of the company and heads of kvemo Kartli Municipality Government discussed current issues related to irrigation schemes in the region.
Kvemo Kartli Governor positively appraised rehabilitation works undertaken on amelioration schemes in Kvemo Kartli and mentioned that doubled water supplied area was the result of active cooperation of central and local authorities.
Since 2012 present, 18 rehabilitation projects of amelioration infrastructure have been completed in Kvemo Kartli region. As a result, water supplied area increased from 24 500 ha up to 43 500 ha. As of today, 25 rehabilitation projects of amelioration infrastructure are in progress all over Georgia, including 6 in Kvemo Kartli region.
