An Agreement was signed with the International Engineering Company
Within the framework of “ORIO” grant facility, an agreement was signed between “Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Agriculture and S.C. EPTISA Romania S.R.L.
The Consortium “EPTISA Romania” will prepare design and cost-estimation for rehabilitation of Zemo Samgori irrigation scheme.
Levan Dvali-General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd and Gerardo Roiz De la Parra Gonzalez Mogena -General Director of “EPTISA Romania” signed the agreement.
Georgia will receive Euro 15, 5 million under grant for rehabilitation of the largest irrigation and drainage scheme of Georgia, on the basis of the agreement, signed in November, 2014, between the Government of Georgia and NL Agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. The irrigation network will serve to more than 30 000 ha of area by gravity flow.
Representatives of “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd, “EPTISA Romania” and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands attended the ceremony.
As a result of rehabilitation of Zemo Samgori irrigation scheme, water will be supplied to more than 30 000 ha of agricultural land area of 19 villages of Gardabani and Sagarejo municipalities, thereby benefiting up to 60 000 households.
Rehabilitation of irrigation and drainage schemes will significantly facilitate to agricultural development of Georgia.
