Rehabilitation of drainage system in Natanebi
The Minister of Agriculture of Georgia Mr. Otar Danelia inspected rehabilitation works of drainage system in Ozurgeti Municipality with the State Representative-Governor of Guria Region Mr. Gia Salukvadze.
“It is noteworthy that the drainage works are being carried out mainly in West Georgia. Currently, about 40 units of amelioration equipment are involved in rehabilitation works. After finishing of mentioned project, more than 11 km drainage canal will be restored and 480 ha of area will be used for agricultural purposes” – mentioned Mr. Otar Danelia. General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” LTD Mr. Levan Dvali provided the detailed information about the progress of rehabilitation works to the Minister of Agriculture.
Within the project, on interfluvial area of rivers Rioni-Choloki, culverts, capital bridges will be arranged, collectors and collecting canals will be cleaned.
After finishing of rehabilitation works, drainage service will be restored on 480 ha agricultural land area. The cost of the first phase of the project is 483 410 Georgian Lari, the works will be completed by July 2016.
As the State Representative-Governor of Guria Region Mr. Gia Salukvadze noted, amelioration works are actively in progress.
Currently, “Georgian Amelioration” LTD implements 3 projects in Guria Region, and 26 projects of rehabilitation works throughout Georgia.
Together with the Minister of Agriculture, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture Mr. Levan Davitashvili and the representatives of local self-government units also got acquainted with the process of rehabilitation works.
