Rehabilitation of Khrami canal irrigation scheme
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Agriculture is implementing project for rehabilitation of Khrami canal irrigation scheme that will result in the improvement of irrigation service provision, in Marneuli and Bolnisi municipalities.
Levan Dvali –General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd and Paata Khizanishvili- Governor of Kvemo Kartli region have inspected ongoing works. According to Levan Dvali, as a result of the works supply of irrigation water will be improved on more than 4000 ha of agricultural land area in Marneuli and Bolnisi municipalities.
“No repair works have been carried out on Khrami canal irrigation scheme for more than 30 years. The ongoing rehabilitation is of great significance for our region, as it will facilitate to the increase of yield” –Paata Khizanishvili said.
Since 2012, 23 rehabilitation projects of amelioration infrastructure have been implemented in Kvemo Kartli region. Consequently, water supplied area has been increased up to 46 250 ha in the region.
