Rehabilitation works of Tsiva-Tekhura drainage schemes are underway

Levan Davitashvili-Minister of Agriculture, along with Levan Dvali-General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd and representatives of local government has got acquainted with current rehabilitation works on Akhalsopeli drainage scheme, located on Tekhura interfluveial massif, in Senaki municipality.

50km long reach of drainage scheme of Tsiva-Tekhura interfluvial massif is being rehabilitated in the village of Akhalsopeli, Senaki municipality. As of today, rehabilitation works have been carried out on 39 km long drainage canals. Within the rehabilitation project, damaged culverts will be replaced as well. After completion of the project, by March of 2017, drainage services will be renewed on 690 ha of land area in the village Akhalsopeli. 

Total cost of the project amounts to GEL 679 000. Since 2012 to date, within the rehabilitation program, restoration works have been carried out on more than 400km long drainage canals, while regarding technical maintenance, 379 km long drainage canals have been repaired in Samegrelo region. Consequently, drained land area has been increased from 10 000 ha up to 16 540 ha.
