Rehabilitation of distribution canal D-22 of Kvemo Samgori irrigation scheme
Water supply regime will be improved on 210 ha of agricultural land area in Sagarejo municipality. “Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Agriculture is implementing rehabilitation project of distribution canal D-22 of Kvemo Samgori irrigation scheme. Within the project a 2, 7 km long pipeline will be arranged. George Chkheidze-Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Levan Dvali-General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd have got acquainted with the progress of rehabilitation works. The project with total cost of GEL 274 000 will be completed by December of the current year. Since 2012, within the rehabilitation program of amelioration infrastructure, restoration works have been carried out on 420 km long amelioration canals, in Kakheti region. Consequently, water supplied agricultural land area has been increased from 6 100 ha up to 14 880 ha, while drainage schemes serve 3 924 ha of land area.
