Rehabilitation of headworks of Khoni-Samtredia irrigation scheme
Within the project different works are carried out, namely: installation of support piles to ensure sustainability of the structure. To this end cast in situ reinforced-concrete belts are installed; full replacement and installation of new electric power system, electric conduction lines, gates of the dam, electric power engines, management boxes, transformers and other old devices. For avoiding natural disaster-caused threats, relevant capacity generators are installed. Various waste-water removal arrangements are in progress for formation of the riverbed.
By rehabilitation of headworks of Khoni-Samtredia irrigation scheme, water supply will be improved on 8000 ha of Khoni, 6000 ha of Samtredia and 300 ha of Martvili municipalities, that totally compose 14 300 ha of agricultural land area. Improvement of water supply covers 21 villages.
Rehabilitation works will be completed by the end of the year.
