New water reservoir will be built in Tedzami ravine
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd will commence building of the new water reservoir in Tedzami ravine in 2018. Levan Davitashvili-Minister of Agriculture attended the presentation of Tedzami reservoir project that was held in Kaspi municipality. According to the Minister, irrigation water was the most critical issue, regularly mentioned on the meetings with farmers in Shida Kartli. “Implementation of Tedzami reservoir project will solve the problem of irrigation water for the farmers. The project will facilitate to the reduction of climate-caused negative impacts, as well as significant improvement of amelioration service delivery to local farmers” –Levan Davitashvili mentioned. The new reservoir will solve the irrigation water problem for several villages. Kakha Samkharadze-Shida Kartli Governor also attended the presentation of Tedzami reservoir and talked about its significance for the region. The governor mentioned that the project had been developed by the order of the farmers and local population. According to Irakli Mezurnshvili – member of parliament from Kaspi district, construction of Tedzami reservoir would facilitate not only to the solution of irrigation water problem to the farmers but creation of additional jobs in the region as well. Under the design construction of the reservoir will not cause flooding of populated areas, agricultural land plots and monuments of cultural heritage.
