The Barataant Canal is being cleaned in Marneuli Municipality
In the village of Kirovka, in Marneuli Municipality, arrangement works of operational road and works to clear the Barataant Canal from trees and bushes and alluvion are underway.
As a result of the measures carried out by “Georgian Amelioration” LTD, the discharge capacity of the channel will be improved, and approximately 80 hectares of agricultural land area will be regularly supplied with irrigation water, that is particularly important for local farms.
Operational works will have been completed by the first half of December.
As a result of the amelioration infrastructural projects implemented in the Kvemo Kartli region in 2012-2024, more than 34,000 hectares of agricultural land area have been water provided, and irrigation water supply has been improved to 32,000 hectares.
