Cleaning works on 7 km long drainage canals are underway in Khobi municipality
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture is carrying out cleaning works in Khobi municipality, within amelioration infrastructure arrangement program.
A 7 km long main canal is being cleaned from vegetation and sediment in the villages of Patara Poti and Chaladidi. The works carried out will facilitate to the increase of discharge capacity of the canal. As a result, during heavy rainfall, total of 730 ha of agricultural land area and adjacent household plots will be protected from flooding.
“Georgian Amelioration” will complete the works in November.
It’d be noted, that the amelioration infrastructural projects implemented in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region within the years of 2012-2024, total of 12 395 hectares of land area have been drained
