Cleaning works are underway on 4 km long drainage canals in Khobi Municipality
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd is carrying out works for the alignment of drainage schemes in Samegrelo. Operation activities are underway on Khobi-Utora drainage massif in Khobi Municipality. 4 km long collecting and drainage canals are being cleaned from vegetation and sediment on the territory of the Kheti and the Pirveli Maisi villages. The works performed will facilitate to the unhindered discharge of water through canals. As a result, drainage services will be improved on 60 ha of agricultural land area which will ensure an increase in agricultural production. “Georgian Amelioration” will complete the cleaning works on the drainage canals by the end of October.
It’d be noted that as a result of the amelioration infrastructural projects implemented in Samegrelo within the years of 2012-2024, total of 12,400 hectares of land were drained, while excess water was removed on 10,170 ha of land area.
