Cleaning works of drainage canals are underway in Abasha Municipality
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture is carrying out works on the Nogela-Tskhenistskali massif in Abasha Municipality.
Up to 2 km long collector is being cleaned from trees, shrubs and sedimentation on the territory of the village of Marani.
As a result of the works carried out, discharge capacity of the canal will increase, ensuring the improvement of drainage services on 90 ha of agricultural land area.
The improved amelioration canals will facilitate to the increase of agricultural crop production.
The works which “Georgian Amelioration” is carrying out by own resources will be completed by the end of September.
It’d be noted that as a result of ameliorative infrastructural projects implemented in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region within the years of 2012-2024, total of 12,395 hectares of land area have been drained.
