Cleaning works area underway on 4.7 km long drainage canals in Khobi Municipality
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd is carrying out works for the alignment of drainage schemes in Samegrelo.
Operation activities are underway on Khobi-Utora drainage massif in Khobi Municipality.
4.7 km long water collecting canals are being cleaned from trees, shrubs and sediment on the territories of the Kheti and Pirveli Maisi villages.
The works carried out will facilitate to unhindered flow of water in the canals. As a result, drainage services will improve on 80 ha of of agricultural land area, which will ensure increase of agricultural production.
Georgian Amelioration will complete the cleaning works in August.
It’d be noted that as a result of the ameliorative infrastructural projects implemented in Samegrelo within the years 2012-2024, total of 12,400 ha of land area was drained, while excess water was removed from 10,170 ha of land.
