Irrigation water supply will be improved on up to 650 ha of agricultural land area in Shida Kartli

“Georgian Amelioration” ltd is uninterruptedly carrying out ameliorative infrastructural projects throughout the country.

1 km long section of main canal of Skra-Kareli irrigation scheme is being cleaned on the territory of the villages Akhalsopeli-Samtsevrisi in Shida Kartli.

The works carried out within the operations program will contribute to  unhindered flow of water in the canal, which will improve  irrigation water supply on up to 650 ha of agricultural land area.

The irrigation canal serves 8 villages of Kareli and Gori municipalities (Samtsevrisi, Kareli, Khvedureti, Kvenaplavi, Gvlevi, Skra, Rieti, Betlemi).

The works carried out by the company’s own resources will be completed by the middle of the current month.

It’d be noted that currently 10 rehabilitation projects of ameliorative infrastructure are underway in Shida Kartli region. As a result, water supply will be improved on 12,250 ha of agricultural land area.
