Repair works are underway on the drainage scheme in Lanchkhuti municipality
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd is carrying out works for the alignment of drainage massif of the Rioni River left embankment.
Up to 2.8 km long various categories of water collecting canals are being cleaned from sediment and vegetation in the village of Shukhuti, Lanchkhuti municipality.
After completion of the works, discharge capacity of the canal will be improved, considering restoration of drainage services and increase of agricultural production opportunities on 15 ha of agricultural land area.
The works on the drainage massif will be completed by the end of May.
It’d be noted that as a result of implementation of the amelioration infrastructural projects in Guria region within the years 2012-2024, total of 2,175 ha of land area was drained, while removal of excess water was ensured on 14,470 ha of land area.
