World Water Day Forum at Georgian Technical University
Mameli Kobalia, Head of the Department of Water Resources Management, Energy and Relation with the GNERC (Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission) of “Georgian Amelioration” LTD, participated in the forum dedicated to World Water Day at the Georgian Technical University.
Mameli Kobalia spoke about the challenges and the importance of rational use of water in irrigation sector.
It should be noted that the Georgian Amelioration LTD is actively implementing amelioration infrastructure projects, promoting the improvement of rational use of water resources, water supply and reduction of water losses in systems. Systematic development of amelioration infrastructure, proper implementation of water metering policy, its normalized supply to farmers, according to a predetermined plan, and creation of right expectations will help farmers to properly plan their entrepreneurial activities in the long term, use modern irrigation methods, which is directly associated to the rational consumption of water resources.
