Gigla Tamazashvili will lead “Georgian Amelioration” ltd
David Songhulashvili-The Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia has introduced Gigla Tamazashvili on the position of a new General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd to the company employees.
Gigla Tamazashvili is a hydrologist by profession. He graduated from the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University -the faculty of Geography and Geology. He is a Doctor of Geographical Sciences.
Gigla Tamazashvili used to lead technical directions at BP Georgia and Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC).
Within 2017-2019, he worked as a special manager at Kaztransgaz-Tbilisi, while from 2019 present, he has occupied the position of a Director inTechnical Issues at Tbilisi Energy.
In parallel, Gigla Tamazashvili is engaged in scientific and educational activities at various universities.
At the meeting with company representatives, the new head of “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd has briefly talked about future plans.
“I’d like to note that, due to my professional background, the challenges that exist in the field of amelioration are familiar to me. Work on infrastructural projects in this direction will continue and become even more extensive to ensure proper functioning of the system. One of the significant projects of the near future will be Ilto reservoir. Where irrigation water is crucial for maximum use of agricultural land area, we must be able to meet the needs of the population. Simultaneously, we must be able to develop effective consumption mechanisms. Furthermore, works to be implemented in terms of drainage will continue,”- mentioned Gigla Tamazashvili.
