Rehabilitation Works are Underway on the Lagodekhi Irrigation Canal

“Georgian Amelioration” Ltd actively continues to implement amelioration infrastructure projects across the country.

In the city of Lagodekhi, approximately 1.1-kilometer section of the main irrigation canal was lined with reinforced concrete, quenching wells were installed and pedestrian and vehicle bridges were built. All this mentioned works will facilitate the smooth flow of water in the canal. As a result, along with the improvement of water supply on approximately 370 hectares of agricultural land, the danger of flooding of the homestead yards adjacent to the canal will no longer exist.

The works are at the completion stage.

Tamaz Mghebrishvili, the General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd inspected the works carried out on the irrigation canal together with heads of the regional offices and met with the local population.

It is noteworthy that, at this stage, 50 amelioration infrastructure rehabilitation projects are underway across the country.
