Restoration works of drainage systems are underway in Kobuleti municipality
"Georgian Amelioration" LTD is carrying out cleaning works on the Achkva River massif in Kobuleti municipality.
In the framework of the works, the sections of collectors and water catchment canals, covered with vegetation, are being cleaned.
The performed works ensure Regular flow of water in the canals. As a result, drainage services will be restored on up to 5 hectares of agricultural land area, which will help to increase productivity.
Ongoing works will be completed at the end of August.
It should be noted that since 2012 projects of amelioration infrastructure with the cost of about 45.6 million GEL have been implemented in Western Georgia. As a result, the irrigated area has been increased by 12,000 hectares, the irrigation water supply has been improved on 15,270 hectares of agricultural land area, land drainage has been implemented on 18,700 hectares, and excess water disposal has been made on 24,925 hectares.
