Amelioration infrastructural projects are actively underway

„ Georgian Amelioration” ltd has completed the second stage of rehabilitation of one of water distributaries of Khrami Canal irrigation scheme in Kvemo Kartli. On the 2.5 km long reach of Tsereteli canal, trapezoidal section cast in-situ reinforced-concrete  canal, water division boxes and water closing gates have been installed.

Works for the arrangement of the irrigation scheme will continue upon the end of the irrigation season.

As a result of full implementation of the project, irrigation water supply  will be improved on 1385 ha of agricultural land area in 6 villages (Tamarisi, Didi Begliari, Patara Begliari, Dioknisi, Tsereteli, Algeti).

The works started in 2021 and are scheduled to be completed by the end of the current year. The cost of the project is GEL 2.3 million.

Tamaz Mgebrishvili, General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd has inspected the works carried out and met with the local population.

In the Kvemo Kartli region, for the last 10 years, amelioration infrastructural projects with total cost of GEL 65.2 million  have been implemented. As a result, 31,870 ha of agricultural land area is regularly irrigated, and irrigation water supply has improved on 24,800 ha.
