Water supply has been improved on 755 ha of agricultural land area in Kvemo Kartli
Population of Kvemo Kartli is served by the rehabilitated Arakhlo irrigation scheme.
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd has rehabilitated Arakhlo irrigation canal in Bolnisi Municipality.
As a result of the works carried out, irrigation water supply has been improved on up to 755 ha of agricultural land area of the villages of Mukhrana, Balakhauri, Nakhiduri and Khidiskuri .
Within the framework of the project, a 4.2km long section of the canal was lined with reinforced concrete, new water outlet structures were arranged, and pedestrian and vehicle passages were installed.
Total cost of the works is GEL 1,670,000.
Tamaz Mgebrishvili-General Director of "Georgian Amelioration” ltd together with the representatives of the local government got acquainted with the works carried out and the progress of irrigation process.
Currently, amelioration infrastructural projects with total cost of GEL 30 mln are underway in Kvemo Kartli, after completion of which, 3,000 ha of agricultural land area will be irrigated regularly, while water supply will be improved on 10,500 hectares.
