Working meeting with regard to amelioration issues
Tamaz Mghebrishvili-General Director of "Georgian Amelioration” ltd and Giorgi Guguchia- State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region discussed the current situation of drainage schemes in the region at the working meeting; The works ongoing and implemented by municipalities were evaluated.
The discussion referred to the projects to be initiated by “Georgian Amelioration” this year.
For the last few years (2017-2023) “Georgian Amelioration” ltd implemented projects with total cost of GEL 7,5 MLN in Khobi, Abasha, Senaki, Martvili, Poti and Zugdidi municipalities, resulted in the increase of drained area by 5000 ha, thus facilitating to the enhancement of agricultural crops production.
Currently, works with total cost of GEL 4.8 MLN are underway in the region, after completion of which, agricultural production will be available on more than 400 ha of land area.
The meeting was held in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti regional administration, which was attended by the management of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd and the Mayors of the municipalities of the region.
