Tengiz Nasaridze reported about the activities of "Georgian Amelioration” Ltd to the Agrarian Issues Committee of the Parliament of Georgia
Tengiz Nasaridze -General Director of "Georgian Amelioration" Ltd presented the company's 2022 activity report and 2023 action plan at the meeting of the Agrarian Issues Committee of the Parliament of Georgia. The director of the company spoke about the already implemented and planned amelioration infrastructural arrangements, the importance of the mentioned arrangements for facilitation to the development of agrarian sector and focused on the existing challenges. Tengiz Nasaridze emphasized the dynamics of water-supplied and drained areas and noted that the obtained results were tangible and impressive. It should be noted that for the last 10 years, water supplied area has increased from 45,000 ha up to 164,000 ha, while drained land area has increased from 14,000 ha up to 44,000 ha. In 2023, the company is actively continuing amelioration infrastructural works. As of today, rehabilitation projects with the cost of GEL 61.5 MLN are underway throughout the country. According to the construction-rehabilitation action plan of the company, commencement of 52 projects is planned this year, with total value of GEL 100.9 MLN. As a result of the full implementation of the current and planned projects, additionally 14,570 ha of agricultural land area will be regularly irrigated, water supply will be improved on 22,865 ha, while drained land area will increase by 905 ha.
