Amelioration infrastructural projects with a cost of more than 60 million GEL will start in Kakheti this year
Current and planned amelioration infrastructural projects and operation measures were discussed by the General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” Tengiz Nasaridze, and the State Representative to Kakheti, Giorgi Aladashvili, at the meeting with the mayors of municipalities of the region.
Tengiz Nasaridze provided the leaders of the local government with detailed information on the projects that will be implemented in the municipalities in the near future.
Within the framework of the projects, the water distributaries and hydraulic structures of the main channels of the irrigation system will be rehabilitated.
Works are planned to the municipalities of Akhmeta, Dedoplistskaro, Sagarejo, Sighnaghi, Lagodekhi, Gurjaani and Telavi.
“Georgian Amelioration” has implemented 96 rehabilitation projects with the cost of 59.9 million GEL in Kakheti region since 2012. As a result, up to 18 000 hectares of agricultural land area are regularly irrigated, and water supply is improved to 13 300 hectares.
