800 hectares of agricultural land area will be regularly irrigated in Kvemo Kartli
“Georgian Amelioration” LTD is implementing rehabilitation of the Tbisi-Kumisi irrigation system, in order to increase water-supplied areas.
The 1.4 km length of emergency section of the Algeti water conduit will be fully renovated in Tetritskaro municipality; As a result, 800 hectares of agricultural land area of 6 villages (Khaishi, Kosalari, Didi Durnuki, Patara Durnuki, parts of Shavsakdari and Tsintskaro) in Tetritskaro municipality will be regularly irrigated.
The cost of the project is more than 3 million GEL.
Mr. Tengiz Nasaridze, the general director of "Georgian Amelioration", together with the leaders of the local government inspected the ongoing works and met local farmers.
"We intensively implement rehabilitation of Amelioration systems across the country. In Kvemo Kartli region, the works are underway on one of the main water conduits of the Tbisi-Kumisi irrigation system, where there was an emergency situation. It’s important that with the rehabilitation of this system, water supply will be improved on 800 hectares"- said Tengiz Nasaridze.
