Working meeting on amelioration issues
General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd. Tengiz Nasaridze and State Representative to Shida Kartli Valerian Mchedlidze, at a working meeting discussed the current situation of amelioration systems in the region. Implemented and ongoing amelioration infrastructure projects and operational measures by municipalities were evaluated; The conversation focused on the planned projects, the implementation of which is planned in the nearest future by “Georgian amelioration”.
Currently, 7 rehabilitation projects of 12 million GEL of amelioration infrastructure are underway in Shida Kartli region. As a result, an additional 4000 hectares of agricultural land area will be irrigated regularly and water supply will be improved to 3240 hectares of land plots.
"Irrigation season is approaching; We get acquainted with the needs of the population. Taking this into account, rehabilitation and improvement works of amelioration infrastructure are being carried out. Shida Kartli is active in the field of agricultural activities, and the well-maintained amelioration infrastructure will significantly help farmers to increase their production” - said Tengiz Nasaridze.
The meeting was held at the Shida Kartli Regional Administration, which was attended by representatives of “Georgian Amelioration” and the mayors of all four municipalities in the Shida Kartli region.
