Irrigation water supply will be improved on 4500 hectares of agricultural land area in Kakheti
"Georgian Amelioration" LTD is implementing repairing works of the main canal of the Kvemo Alazani irrigation system on 4500 hectares of agricultural land area in Kakheti, in order to improve the irrigation water supply.
The irrigation canal up to 6 km length is being cleaned from sediments and trees and shrubs, on the area of the villages Akhasheni and Chumlaki.
The works will facilitate the smooth water flow in the canal. As a result, water provision will be improved on 4500 hectares of agricultural land area in Gurjaani, Sighnaghi and Dedoplistskaro municipalities, which will enable local farmers to grow qualitative and abundant crops.
Ongoing works on the irrigation system will be completed in mid-April.
