13 km long irrigation scheme is being completely rehabilitated in Kvemo Kartli

"Georgian Amelioration” is carrying out rehabilitation works of Khrami canal irrigation scheme distributary for the improvement of irrigation water supply on 1385 hectares of agricultural land area in Kvemo Kartli.

Within the works, a 13 km long canal will be cleaned and repaired; The 2.5-kilometer section will be lined with reinforced concrete; Division boxes and water shutting gates will be installed, motor and pedestrian bridges will be arranged; The cost of the project amounts to GEL 2 277 800.

Improvement of irrigation water supply will enable local farmers to produce quality and abundant yield.

Davit Tsitlidze-General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd, together with the management of Kvemo Kartli Regional Office inspected the ongoing rehabilitation works on the Khrami Canal and met with local farmers.

"Demand for irrigation water is especially high in Kvemo Kartli. Accordingly, we have planned large-scale works for rehabilitation of irrigation infrastructure and are carrying out them gradually. Rehabilitation of Khrami canal will facilitate to the reduction of water loss, improvement of irrigation water supply and management, which is crucial for successful agricultural activities of local farmers and stable irrigation of agricultural land plots" - Davit Tsitlidze mentioned.
