The population of Shida Kartli is served by the rehabilitated irrigation system of Karbi. Georgian Amelioration Ltd has implemented the rehabilitation of the Karbi irrigation system in Gori Municipality. Water is run in the restored system.
Up to 10 km of main and distribution canals have been rehabilitated in the framework of the project. The canals were cleaned from sediment mass and covered with reinforced concrete furrows; Typical buildings, water intake and distribution nodes were arranged.
As a result of the works carried out, the irrigation water supply has been improved to 300 hectares of agricultural land area in the village of Karbi and part of Mereti.
The cost of the project is 468 700 GEL.
