Works for arrangement of main canal of Kvemo Alazani irrigation scheme are underway
Works for arrangement of main canal of Kvemo Alazani irrigation scheme are underway In Kakheti, after completion of which the irrigation water supply will be improved on 3500 ha of agricultural land area in Gurjaani, Signagi and Dedoplistskaro municipalities.
In the area of the villages of Vejini, Kolagi, Bakurtsikhe and Kardenakhi, total of 7,000 meters of the main canal is cleaned from sediment and trees and bushes.
The works under the operation program are carried out by “Georgian Amelioration” ltd.
The cleaning works will ensure unhindered discharge of water in the canal, which will significantly improve irrigation of agricultural lands.
The works have started in January of the current
year and are near completion.
