Repairing works are underway on irrigation systems in Shida Kartli
“Georgian Amelioration” LTD of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture is actively implementing reclamation infrastructure projects throughout the country.
In order to improve the water supply in Shida Kartli, repairing works are underway on the irrigation systems.
A 3-kilometer section of the Tirifoni main canal, on the area of the villages Karbi and Kere, is being cleaned from alluvion, trees and shrubs.
As a result of the measures taken under the operation program, the water conduit of the canal will increase, which will improve the irrigation water supply to 1500 hectares of agricultural land.
The population of 8 villages (Tkviavi, Flavi, Flavismani, Mejvriskhevi, Zerti, Adzvi, Akhalubani and Jariasheni) of Gori Municipality will benefit from the restored irrigation system.
The works, which are being implemented by “Georgian Amelioration” LTD on its own, are at the completion stage.
