Meeting in Sagarejo Municipality
The Regional Director of Kakheti Region of “Georgian Amelioration” LTD Mr. Nikoloz Kurtishvili met with the Governor of Sagarejo Municipality Mr. Giorgi Gzirishvili and the representatives of the Governor in administrative units.
The Parties discussed the current situation on irrigation systems in Municipality.
The Regional Director made a presentation and discussed each rehabilitation project, which are planned to be implemented by the Company in Sagarejo Municipality.
Mr. Nikoloz Kurtishvili spoke about the “Mobile Amelioration Service” which implies the use of mobile pumping stations. This service has made possible to irrigate such agricultural lands, where irrigation water was supplied impedimently. Mobile pumping stations will also be used in case of lack of water in irrigation systems and other unforeseen circumstances. Mr. Nikoloz Kurtishvili also spoke about the use of modern irrigation systems and their positive aspects. Drip and sprinkler irrigation methods are much more effective than traditional gravity flood, because it needs twice less electricity, water and fertilizer and significantly increases the yield.
